Your Voice, Your Story

We’re living through a moment of significant government change.
Executive orders. DOGE directives. Federal funding freezes. These shifts are rippling across communities, creating uncertainty and confusion. For many, this feels very personal and unsafe.

This page is a safe space to tell your story your way.

Whether you’re worried about how changes in funding affect your child’s school, your work in healthcare, your access to services, or your future plans—your voice matters.

In this moment, we need to listen to each other.

What to Share?

This is your story, in your words.

  • Have you been—or do you expect to be—affected by changes to services that support life’s basic necessities? This could include social services like healthcare, housing, or food assistance; programs such as Social Security; or benefits provided through your employer.
  • What worries you most right now? Are you thinking about how these changes might affect you in the next 2 to 5 years—or even further down the road?
  • How safe do you feel right now? Has your job, community, or sense of well-being already been affected—or do you feel more vulnerable looking ahead?
  • What do you need to feel informed, safe, and supported in your community?

  1. I’m frustrated. It feels like my voice doesn’t matter.

With so much uncertainty, I don’t know how to plan or what I can count on. I’m a female military veteran with three adult children and one still in high school. Two of my kids don’t have health care. My youngest is a straight-A student who would thrive in college, but I don’t know what that path will look like in two years when he graduates.

I have friends and family who are neurodivergent and members of the LGBTQ+ community. I worry about their safety and their future. More than anything, I want them to feel like they belong.
